Contest Rules

These rules apply to any promotional contest announced on this website. Where a specific contest publishes its own rules, those rules prevail. No purchase is necessary to enter or to win.
1. Eligibility
Open to legal residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory. Employees of MacKay Security Services Inc., its advertising partners, and members of their households are not eligible.
2. Entry period and method
The entry period is stated in the contest announcement. Enter by completing the entry form during the entry period. One entry per person; automated or bulk entries are void.
3. No purchase necessary
Entry does not require the purchase of any product or service. A no-purchase entry may also be submitted by mailing a handwritten card with your name, address, telephone number and the contest name to the address in the Contact section.
4. Skill-testing question
As required in Canada, each selected entrant must correctly answer, unaided, a mathematical skill-testing question before being declared a winner.
5. Prize
The prize is described in the contest announcement, has no cash value, cannot be transferred, and must be accepted as awarded. The approximate retail value is stated at announcement.
6. Selection and notification
Winners are drawn at random from all eligible entries. A selected entrant is notified by telephone or email and must respond within 7 days and sign a declaration and release, failing which another entrant is drawn.
7. Quebec residents
Any litigation respecting the conduct or organisation of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling, and litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
8. General
By entering, participants agree to these rules and to the decisions of the sponsor, which are final. Personal information collected for a contest is used only to administer that contest, in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
